What is an anchor Tag?
An anchor tag allows you to create hyperlinks that navigate to a specific point within a page. This differs from a standard hyperlink, in that standard links only navigate to new pages.
How do you create an anchor tag?
- Set your cursor to the area you would like your site visitor to be taken to.
- Click on the anchor icon (it looks like a flag) to insert a new anchor. This flag will not actually be visible to your sites visitors.
- Give the new anchor element a name. This name will be used in your hyperlink.
- To edit the name of your anchor tag double click on the flag icon.
How do you link to the anchor tag?
- Select the text or image you would like to add the hyperlink to.
- Click on the hyperlink button.
- Add your link and append the link with “#AnchorName”
