Networks is apparent all over the news, all over the internet. It’s most obvious application is social networks, since that is such a large part of our lives today. Another one that may not be so obvious is the network between countries. This article discusses the missiles that North Korea has fired. In terms of recent topics discussed in class, particularly the Strong Triadic Closure Property, North Korea is an interesting country in that it only has weak relations to very few countries. Most countries, and especially those in the United Nations are intertwined, but North Korea has no strong links to any countries.

North Korea has fired these missiles and as a result, everyone around the world is freaking out. No one has strong enough ties to North Korea to be able to possibly prevent any kind of attack on anyone else. In class, balanced networks were also discussed. Networks are important in situations like these since typically, there are sides formed for a balanced network. North Korea is on its own side, with the rest of the world at the other end. The reckless attacks are against all sides of the world and there is middle man to stop them.
