Research background
Through my undergraduate and graduate study programs, I’ve been exposed to research experiences in a wide domain of soil and crop sciences. During my undergraduate program, I completed my research on evaluating the different origins of biochar on crop and soil properties for organic vegetable production.

I conducted a field experiment in Kamboinse, Burkina Faso, for my MS research, comparing the efficacy of novel calcined phosphate rock fertilizer versus conventional Triple Super Phosphate (TSP) fertilizer on sorghum growth and soil properties, complemented by a modeling approach to predict sorghum yield in rainfed conditions using APSiM.

My Ph.D. research evaluated novel water-dispersible carbon nanomaterials as a soil amendment in sandy Florida soils, aiming to enhance vegetable and field crop production while uncovering their intricate effects on soil biochemical properties.

Research interests with the Sustainable Cropping Systems Lab
In my postdoctoral research, I aim to build upon the current understanding of no-till organic crop production systems—delving into cover cropping strategies and integrating agroecological principles—with a primary focus on leveraging soil processes to optimize ecological resilience, crop productivity, and soil health. I plan to work on understanding/predicting/managing the soil moisture dynamics in organic no-till for adaptive management in cover crops-cash cropping systems.
