Nearly 100 participants attended the inaugural Campus Nature Rx Symposium, held virtually October 23.
Hosted by Don Rakow, the symposium featured a keynote address by USDA Forest Service researcher Dr. Michelle Kondo on “What nature-health research has taught us about recovery from stressful times.”
Speakers from six colleges and universities presented on their unique approaches to engaging students with the natural world. Both morning and afternoon sessions culminated in breakout room discussions of questions central to student health, time in nature, and ways of being truly inclusive.
This symposium was supported by Vice President Ryan Lombardi and the Office of Student and Campus Life.
