POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide clerical/administrative support to the Family Health & Wellness (FHW) Program and our collaborative Diabetes Education Program with the Suffolk County Department of Health Services. Provide Microsoft office skills with a high emphasis on Excel to manage program budgets and program participation statistics. Initiate and compose difficult correspondence requiring subject matter familiarity and discretion. May assist with budget formation; prepare office budgets; prepare vouchers for office expense, etc.; purchase office equipment.

Relieve supervisor of handling numerous personal contacts; answer inquiries; gather information requiring discretion and a wide variety/depth of knowledge of office operations and procedures. Schedule and coordinate meetings. Plan and schedule travel arrangements. Pass on information to staff regarding departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines. Coordinate program activities such as seminars and conferences.

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree or Equivalent Education.
  • Strong administrative and word processing skills, including Word and Excel;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to meet the travel demands of the position
  • Ability to lift 25lbs. as needed
  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Meet acceptable background check standard, if required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  •      Ability to manage social media platforms

This is a non-exempt, TEMPORARY -part-time position, 20-30 hours per week

 Pay Rate Type: Hourly
