The Family Health and Wellness program will begin presenting our Spring Parenting series next week. As part of this series, we’re offering four online workshops, a new format for the program, and for many Suffolk County residents. The most common response to this new format has been, “what is an online workshop?”
Quite simply, an online workshop modifies the format of our in-person workshops only slightly. We’re taking the same content you would receive if you attended one of our programs in person, and presenting this information online. Attendees simply sign into an online meeting space, WebEx in this instance, where they’ll be able to hear our educators, interact through a live chat box, and see slides about the content being discussed. Though that may sound complicated – it really isn’t! We’ll help you every step along the way.
The process is simple:
- Register for the online workshop, just like you would our normal offerings, by clicking here.
- A few days before the workshop, you’ll receive an email from WebEx with a link to sign into the online workshop, the time, date and brief instructions on how to use the site.
- The day of the workshop, you’ll receive a reminder email from WebEx with the link again for your convenience. We ask that you plan to access the workshop 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time to make sure the web site loads properly and ensure that you’re able to hear us before the presentation starts. (See the system requirements below.)
- If you have any technical difficulties during the process, I will be available by phone or email to try and walk you through resolving any issues.
We will be offering this first series of online workshops free of charge, so we invite you to sign up and take advantage of our programs online, from the comfort of your home or office. The workshops are even accessible from your PC, Mac, tablet or phone! (See system requirements below to ensure compatibility with your device.)
Workshops will last approximately one hour, and will offer the opportunity to ask questions and find out where you can get more information on the topics.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. And if you’d like more information on any of our spring workshops, download the attachment below.
