#goodbetterbest

When it comes to being healthy, there is no “perfect” way. We think to have “perfect” health means to eat colorful salads and go to the gym at least three times a week. But let’s be honest… that’s hargbbd! Sometimes when I can’t find the “perfect” way to eat, I forget about being healthy completely and manage to beat my personal record of eating five cookies in a minute (peanut butter are my favorite).

But instead of trying to be “perfect,” we should try to just be better. Our friend Jeannie told us about a motto she shares with others – when it comes to being healthy, we should think of doing good, better and then the best.

“Good. Better. Best”

So what does “Good. Better. Best.” mean? Well, it means that it is okay to not be “perfect.” When we make decisions on what to eat or what to buy, we try to make the best decision we can.

Let’s say we are at home but don’t have a lot of time to make dinner. We grab that box of macaroni and cheese from the cabinet. This is good – we’re getting some energy and a few nutrients out of the mac and cheese. Is there a way to make it better? We remember we have a bag of frozen broccoli in the freezer. So we add that to the bowl. Now it’s better. While it may not be the “perfect” healthy meal, it is the best we could do in this situation, and that’s all that matters.

“Good. Better. Best.” can be used all the time and to anything. Just ask yourself: “Can I make this better?”
