Tree Fruit Scouting Workshop in Bath, NY: July 26 with DEC Credits

Saturday, July 26, 1-3pm at Crooked Line Farm and Orchard, 7780 Cold Springs Rd., Bath NY, 14810

Join Anna Wallis, Fruit IPM Coordinator for Cornell IPM at Cornell AgriTech, and Elizabeth Lamb, Ornamental IPM Coordinator for Cornell IPM, as they discuss economically significant tree fruit pests, with a focus on key insects and diseases. They will be covering identification and damage caused by the pests, as well as monitoring and scouting methods. Additionally, they will cover biocontrol basics, identification of common beneficial insects and how to encourage them in your orchards. While addition of beneficial insects in outdoor settings is not common, they will discuss some potential uses in NYS fruit production.

Registration is required. Host must be notified in advance if seeking DEC credits. This event is free. Contact Susan Walker to RSVP at smw272@cornell.edu, 607-664-2574, or 607-664-2300.
