DACA and TPS Recipients Protest at the Steps of the Supreme Court

https://prospect.org/justice/dreamers-protest-as-supreme-court-hears-daca-case/

This article outlines the fight that DACA and TPS recipients are putting up in response to the Trump Administration’s attempt at slowly repelling all of the protections that allowed them to stay in the United States. The article highlights that the people that are feeling the effects of these rollbacks are people who have been in this country for decades on end, where they know no other place other than the United States and who have managed to obtain successful jobs and lives here. Particularly, the article focuses on the recent protests that occured at the steps of the Supreme Court of the United States, where supporters and recipients of immigration rights alike came together to send a message: that they will not be stopped. The protest in and of itself ended up being around 500 people with some of the participants traveling hours on end to join the protest.

The number of people that joined the protest slowly started increasing in part due to an information based cascade with the first couple of protesters influencing the rest. Those who were thinking about joining the protest may have been hesitant due to the possible repercussions of protesting (i.e. potential arrest) or due to the crowd size. After seeing more and more people deciding to join the protest, the rest of those who were deciding, may have finally decided to finally pull the trigger to attend. This can be seen with one of the participants who decided to travel hours on end to join the protest after seeing that a significant amount of people were indeed going to participate.
