COVID-19, comfort foods and state of mind: April 2020 Survey results

Cornell Sensory Evaluation Center recently surveyed its panel members about their feelings and experiences during the current COVID-19 situation.  174 of them have responded.

Here’s what we learned: 

76% said they were coping with current COVID-19 situation and social distancing “good” and even “great.”  But 2% reported having really hard time.

  • Being with family

The WORST part

  • Missing friends, family, and people in general, basic human contact
  • Missing work

What COMFORT FOODS were the most popular at this time?

Cookies and Ice Cream were the most frequently mentioned, followed by Cheese, Mac & Cheese, Pasta and Breads.  Wine, Soups and Butter were also popular.
