We have (finally) reached first trap catch in Niagara county, with 1 male and 11 females trapped in a cherry orchard and 1 male and 3 females trapped in a blueberry planting. Both traps were jar drowning traps, and both plantings contained ripe fruits. Thank you to Liz Tee for monitoring those traps!
We are now at first trap catch in all of the counties in the monitoring network.
We also reached sustained trap catch in Orleans county today with SWD trapped in each of a cherry, black raspberry, and blueberry planting.
