Mosquitoes breed in standing water. Eliminate mosquito breeding sites on your property to reduce mosquito problems.
Matt Frye created this quick video overview on eliminating mosquito breeding sources.
Mosquitoes breed in stagnant water. Any container, even a soda cap can hold enough water for some mosquitoes to breed.
- Mosquito larvae, called wrigglers, feed on decaying plant and animal materials in water.
- Mosquito pupae, called tumblers, are the stage between larvae and adults.
- Adult mosquitoes emerge on the water surface, then fly away to find a meal.
To eliminate mosquito breeding, dump the water out of containers and flip them over.
