What’s Bugging You? – Mice

β€œThe early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.” ― Willie Nelson

On a recent call with my mother, I learned she’d found holes in bags of rice, and so she’d put out traps. She expressed her hope that after catching four mice, she’d dealt with all of them. “Well, probably not,” I warned her, “and I’ll be over to check out the situation.”

But in the meantime I’m sending her – and you – to the First Friday presentation by Matt Frye on Dealing with mice in your home.

For more detailed information, photos, and videos, please head over to our What’s Bugging You? Mice and Rats webpage. You will find information on identification, the risks of having mice in your home, and how to manage them.

One of the recommendations you will find is to store food items in pest-proof containers. This will also help to reduce other pantry pests such as pantry moths or beetles.

Want to reduce mice in your house next fall? Of course you do. And we can help. Matt to the rescue again, as he shares ‘how to keep them out’ in the November First Friday presentation, Keeping pests out of your home this fall.

If you’re not sure what kind of pest you are dealing with, you can see the most common pests found in each room of your home on our Where Am I Seeing the Pest? page.

If you need me, I’ll be cleaning around my stove.
