Each year, NYS IPM presents Excellence in IPM awards to people who make a difference on farms and in communities across New York. And each year we’re struck again at how much these people can accomplish through dedication, enthusiasm — and through walking the talk.
Over the next weeks and months, we’d like to introduce you to our current awardees. But first, a word about the award itself.
We’ve been giving Excellence in IPM awards since 1996. Some awardees participate in on-farm research, demonstration, or education — on their farm. Others promote IPM in their businesses; some even go out of their way to advocate to and even help the competition. Some do the in-depth research to create new ways of dealing with pests; methods that will speed the adoption of IPM.

Still other awardees bring that research to the communities that need help now with daunting pest problems. And now and then, someone nominates a person in our program, based on that person’s above-and-beyond support for the values and needs of those they serve.
Check back in and check them out.
