Prof. Goldfarb wins NSF CAREER Award

Prof. Goldfarb was recently awarded a National Science Foundation CAREER Award for her Project: “CAREER: Manipulating Polarity to Enhance Hydrothermal Liquefaction of Biomass for Biofuels.” Over the next 5 years her team will explore new approaches to controlling the hydrothermal liquefaction of biomass to biofuels through fundamental thermodynamic process endpoints. In addition to the advances made in terms of HTL, the Educational Component of this CAREER award will advance the way we approach teaching Introductory Environmental Engineering courses to retain under-represented groups STEM and communicate our science to the public.
