A BIG congratulations to James Adair for receiving the 2024 Andrew W. Mellon Student Research Grant for his work on “Producing Bacterial Nanocellulose from Hydrothermal Process Waste” and to San Lin Htun for his 2024 Arthur Boller Research Award for his work on “Hydrothermal Liquefaction of Apple Pomace.” These competitive awards are granted by the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to encourage PhD students to pursue independent research projects. Both James and San wrote comprehensive research proposals detailing their hypotheses, proposed methods, expected results, impact of results and budget requests to win this funding.
