The EME2Lab is celebrating Ph.D. Candidate Andrew’s latest article in Fuel. In collaboration with Dr. Emily Ryan (Boston University), we systematically probe the impact of transition metals on in situ pyrolysis of cellulose through changes in bio-oil and pyrolysis gas compounds. Copper aids dehydrogenation at lower temperatures and initiates primary pyrolysis, potentially opening the door to lower temperature pyrolysis processes.
