NYSAPF and HSUS to host 2021 animal crimes webinar series

The New York State Animal Protection Federation (NYSAPF) and their Division of Animal Cruelty Law Enforcement will host a four-part webinar series on animal crimes in collaboration with Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).

All trainings are FREE and open to Law Enforcement, Animal Control, Humane Investigators, Code Enforcement Officers, Veterinarians, Judges, and Prosecutors. The four webinars are listed below.

Animal Abuse and Violent Crime 

Thursday March 11, 10:00am-12:00pm

Reviews the fundamentals of animal cruelty investigations, including their co-occurrence with violent crime, and how to assess, document and prosecute potential violations of New York law.

Farm Animal Cruelty Investigations 

Thursday April 8, 10:00am-12:00pm

Reviews investigating reports of farm animal cruelty, including standards of care and how to assess physical and living conditions, common conditions, potential causes, and basic disease information.

Equine Cruelty Investigations 

Thursday May 13, 10:00am-12:00pm

Reviews basic equine husbandry, common conditions and potential causes, and considerations for assessing physical/living conditions.

Large Scale Neglect Investigations

Thursday June 10, 10:00am-12:00pm

Reviews unique considerations for seizures involving significant numbers of animals, focusing on the day of removal and subsequent animal care.
