The Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostics Sciences is excited to welcome Dr. Jessica Reed. Dr. Reed joined the Department on 04/16/2024, as an Associate Clinical Professor and the Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program Director.
Dr. Reed earned her DVM from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from New York University. Dr. Reed comes to Cornell University from Washington State, where she served as the Vice President of Veterinary Services at Seattle Humane. In that role, Dr. Reed was responsible for creating and executing a vision for Seattle Humane to expand access to affordable veterinary care in the region, and for training the next generation of veterinary professionals.
Dr. Reed is excited to be back in Ithaca and plans to explore the outdoors, and the local food/winery/brewery scene with her husband and two dogs. When Dr. Reed is not working or playing outside, she enjoys reading, crocheting and watching old movies.
