Black Culture and K-pop

I just wanted to share this article on how K-pop artists and fans reacted to the BLM movement in June by confronting the appropriation of elements associated with Black culture in the K-pop industry. My roommate is a member of a K-pop dance group, and she recently attended a round table discussion where Black K-pop cover artists spoke out about the discrimination against Black dancers in the K-pop fandom despite the majority of K-pop drawing influence from Black hip-hop music and dance.
