Tinder. The Modern Speed Dating.

Although there are many people, myself included, that are not on Tinder, it has certainly taken over. Whether it’s just a casual fling you’re look for or if it’s for a real relationship people look toward sites like tinder to help them find what they’re looking for. Tinder is a simpler version on eharmony and match.com but still effective. Tinder looks at many different aspects of people, different networks. From their friends and likes to their age and location. These are the main four networks tinder works with.

This app finds people near you that are around your age, it’ll first recommend people that you have a lot of friends with or share similar likes with and if none of those matches catch your fancy it’ll show you all the people near you with similar age that are using Tinder. This networking works. I know countless people who meet their formal date, their boyfriend, or their girlfriend on Tinder. Tinder uses these four networks to find people who are close to you in all or some of them, whether you have a lot of similar likes or friends or both, Tinder will match you.

This app has a lot to do with what were learning in class because it shows the Strong Triadic Closure Property at work. For instance if two people like something enough to post it on facebook they probably like it a lot and so Tinder works to make them meet. This is the same with mutual friends.
