Crowdstrike – New Malware Protection

Up until now, our computers have been protected with the built-in Windows 10 antivirus software. Thanks to CCE administration funding, we now have the ability to install a better malware protection service that campus is already utilizing called Crowdstrike.

The install of this new malware protection program won’t require Christi or I to remote in nor for you to do anything special. Within the next couple of weeks, it will install quickly and silently when you connect to the Cornell network, whether that be in the office or via the VPN.

Important facts:

  • CrowdStrike provides:
    • Endpoint malware protection & response
    • State-of-the-art antivirus scanning
    • Security threat intelligence
  • During normal usage, the CrowdStrike client will invisibly monitor your computer against threats and attacks.
  • If and when CrowdStrike detects a threat, Christi and I will be alerted automatically. We will then work with you to address the threat.
