Microsoft Teams Chat and Meetings Client Available for Cornell Office 365

Cornell faculty, students, and staff can now use the Microsoft Teams client app. The functionality available through the app–chat and meetings–is largely the same as Skype for Business. (Teams is replacing Skype for Business, which will no longer be supported by Microsoft as of July 31, 2021.)

Other Microsoft Teams services, such as team and channel creation, are available to Cornell faculty now, and will be available to the Cornell community (which includes CCE staff) on September 7, 2020.

Please note: Most of our CCE computers currently have Office 2016 or Office 2019 installed so Teams is not currently installed.

If you are interested in using Teams, it can be downloaded and installed from Microsoft’s website at: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app
If you need assistance, please e-mail wsbnit@cornell.edu.

If you would like to be fully upgraded to Office 365, please e-mail Christi and I at wsbnit@cornell.edu to schedule a time for the upgrade. The upgrade process typically takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on internet speed.
