Personnel Assignments: Assessment, Listing

Each rotation course has at least one primary instructor, assigned by the college registrar – only the registrar can add or remove primary instructors.   If you do not have primary instructor role, and feel you should, email cvmregistrar@cornell.edu.

Primary instructors are able to manage changes, additions, or removal of access.  To do so, use Faculty Dashboard at https://app.vet.cornell.edu/faculty-dashboard.  Note this does not require VPN access, but you will need to login with your NetID and password and (if your account requires it), verify through Dual Authentication.

Once there, you should see the rotations you are primary instructor as of today for on the left side menu:

The VTMED 5611 rotation is listed on the left menu

Click on the rotation name:

You may add or remove people to/from the following roles:

  • Evaluator: May enter days missed/make up, evaluation entrustment scale, comments internal and to the student, and approve/submission the final evaluation. This role will have a view of what has been submitted.
  • Viewer: May only view the student lists and pictures for each rotation block. This role will not see any parts of the final evaluation submission but will see a check mark if the final evaluation has been submitted next to the student’s name.
  • Commentor: May enter days missed/make up, evaluation entrustment scale and internal comments. This role will not see any parts of the final evaluation submission but will see a check mark if the final evaluation has been submitted next to the student’s name.
  • Personnel – are listed on the Personnel page for the Canvas course.  This page is constructed automatically twice a day at 8:15 AM and 8:!5 PM.  So adding a new person here may take awhile to flow through.

A particular person may be an Evaluator OR a Viewer OR a Commenter,  but not any combination of the three.  However, they may belong to one or more of the other groups.  So for example, a person might be both an Evaluator and in the Personnel list.

To change people in roles:

  • To add a person to a role, click in the box with the roles, and begin typing a first name, last name, or netid.  When the person’s name appears below, click on it.
  • To remove a person from a role, click on the X button next to their name.

In addition you can view, but not change, people in the following roles:

  • Primary Instructor – of which you should be one.  Changes to this list should go to the Registrar’s office.
  • Chief, Faculty, Intern, Resident – are roles assigned primarily for course evaluation.  Changes go to Professional Services.
