Adding SCORM Content to Canvas

Enable SCORM Uploads

  1. Click “Settings” from the left-hand course menu
  2. Open the “Navigation” tab
  3.  Click and drag the “SCORM” item to the top section
  4. Scroll to the bottom the the page and click “Save”

Tip: Moving the SCORM section will make it visible to students as well as allow you to upload SCORM content.  Once you have made your uploads, reverse the process to hide the SCORM tab from students.  You will be able to add your content to a module as an assignment.

Adding SCORM Files

  1. Click on “SCORM” in the course menu
  2. Click “Upload” button
  3. Select your SCORM file (.zip)
  4. Choose Import as “Graded Assignment” or “Ungraded Assignment” from the drop down menu
  5. Click “Go”

Adding SCORM Assignments to Course

  1. From the Modules area of your course, click the “+” to add content to a module
  2. Check that “Assignments” type is selected
  3. Scroll until you find the files you previously uploaded
  4. Click “Add Item”

Tip: Click on the assignment then “Edit Assignment Settings” and select “Load This Tool In a New Tab” if your content  performs better when displayed full-screen.
