Zoom – Record a Meeting
1. How to schedule a Zoom recording in Canvas
12 STEPS
1. The first step is to open your Canvas Dashboard by going to canvas.cornell.edu and logging in.
Scroll to find the course you wish to schedule the Zoom for and click to open that course.
2. Once in the course, click Zoom
3. Click Schedule a New Meeting
4. Enter the name for your Zoom meeting
5. Select the date and time the meeting will take place
6. Since this meeting is for a course, the password should be “cvm” followed by the year. So for 2021 courses, the password will be “cvm2021”
7. uncheck the box next to “Waiting Room”
8. Uncheck the box next to “Enable join before host”
9. Check the box next to “Mute participants upon entry”
10. Check the box next to “Record the meeting automatically”
11. Make sure that the meeting is set to record “In the cloud”
12. Click Save, and now you’re meeting is set! It will show up in the Zoom page of the Canvas site.
Recordings will automatically go into the “Cloud Recordings” tab of the Zoom page. Please see the “How to publish a recording in Canvas” tutorial.
