This week we reached first trap catch in Franklin county, with both male and female spotted wing drosophila caught in drowning jar traps in both a raspberry and a blueberry planting. Both plantings had ripe and ripening fruits.
We also reached sustained trap catch in St. Lawrence county, with both male and female spotted wing drosophila trapped in drowning jar traps set in raspberry and blueberry plantings, all with ripe and ripening fruits.
Thank you to Ken Kogut, Nancy Alessi, and Nick Hamilton-Honey for checking those traps!
