- BTI Seminar Series (Penelope)
- Spring 2018: Cyril Zipfel (?, may be pushed back to fall 2018)
- Fall (October) 2018: Jennifer Nemhauser
- Spring 2019: Tentatively Dominique Bergmann
- Possibility of combining the SIPS/BTI Distinguished Lecturer in Fall 2019
- Nick met with Gillian and received a bit of feedback about graduate-student invited student speaker
- May require a designated coordinator from GSC
- Perhaps rotate the section that invites a speaker?
- Julia will send an email to gauge interest in forming a sub-committee responsible for soliciting nominations, inviting a speaker, and coordinating travel/schedules

General Meeting Notes:
- Julia, Eugene and Hannah will be attending the SIPS Exec Mtg.
- The document below was presented to the SIPS Executive Committee.
Responses from the SIPS Executive Committee:
Overall very positive responses from the committee.
- Chris Smart said she will be able to provide money for social events that are open to all of SIPS.
- Graduate students were asked to provide ideas for lab, office and community space layouts for the Plant Science building renovations.
- Reminder to attend the Meeting with the SIPS Director on May 11 at 10 am, Plant Sci G22.
