SIPS leadership is pleased to welcome Leah Cook in her new role as the Student Services Lead in the School of Integrative Plant Science, following review of internal and external applicants for the position.  Leah brings a wealth of experience, having previously worked as Chair’s Assistant in the former Horticulture Department, Assistant to SIPS Director Alan Collmer, and, since 2014, as Undergraduate Coordinator for the Plant Sciences Major.  Leah will start her position on November 16. Her office is located in 117 Academic Surge Facility A.

As Student Services Lead, Leah will join the SIPS staff leadership team composed of Senior Admin Manager Magdalen Lindeberg, Admin Lead Cindy Twardokus, and Finance Manager Tracy Chapman. She will also supervise those SIPS staff members whose full effort is focused on undergraduate or graduate student services.

The Student Services Lead and Admin Lead are both new position in SIPS, created as part of the ongoing organizational development process for administrative staff in the School. A search is ongoing for the front desk administrative assistant in the Emerson suite and we are looking forward to announcing other staff hires soon. As part of Leah’s transition to her new leadership role we will be refilling the Plant Sciences Coordinator position.
