Summer Berry Field Meetings: 2018
Exclusion Netting & SWD Monitoring
Thursday, July 19th 2018
5:00pm to 7:00pm
This is a great opportunity to join us at Poughkeepsie Farm Project, our host site for a close look at a SWD exclusion netting system trial in raspberries.
Peter Jentsch of the Hudson Valley Research Lab will discuss the biology and current management strategies for SWD on Raspberry. A demonstration plot on the construction of exclusion netting and the use of attract and kill baits for management of SWD in a U-Pick raspberry planting will be discussed. An ‘Overview of Exclusion Project’ handout will be provided.
A low tunnel over strawberries will be available for viewing.
Bring a fruit sample for salt flotation testing, or a plant sample if you have other berry questions.
Attendees can enter for a chance to win free SWD monitoring traps!
