This article dives deep into the analysis of brain networks and states that network analysis has been one of the most significant methods in understanding brain disease diagnosis. The article covers multiple network analysis methods, but the one that directly relates to our discussion during lectures is the application of the PageRank algorithm to understanding brain disease diagnosis.

As technology continues to advance, so do the complexities of the relationships between users and web pages. In order to keep up with the intensive amounts of data, the PageRank algorithm has provided a topology structure that facilitates the importance of certain nodes. The PageRank algorithm has allowed us to visualize if a certain node is more significant based on the amount of nodes it has connected to it or if a node is more significant because it is connected to other nodes that are also important. The article mentioned that this relationship is highly applicable to establishing links within the brain network. For example, building a brain network and applying the PageRank algorithm exposes which links are more significant based on connectivity. The links established within certain parts of the brain will further present information of how the brain interacts within certain regions of the network along with other parts of the body.

From this application of the PageRank algorithm to brain network analysis, it would be interesting to see the intersection of other algorithms to different health care analysis. This intersection relates to numerous other topics that we have covered in class ranging from structural models, clustering, and strong triadic closures. In addition, with the endless amounts of data that is now present, the demand for optimal algorithms is more crucial than ever.
