Pesticide residue analysis

We offer a 93-pesticide multi-residue screen with limits of detection <1 ng/g for most pesticides, depending on the matrix. We regularly quantify pesticide residues in flowers, leaves, pollen, soil, wax, bees, honey and even birds! The recommended sample weight for this type of analysis is 10 grams, but we can work with less at the cost of some sensitivity. We also have the capability to analyze very small samples (e.g., single bees).

The facility operates on a per sample fee, regardless of sample type.

If you need LC-MS/MS analyses for something other than pesticides, please contact us about your project. We have worked extensively with plant secondary metabolites (alkaloids, polyphenols, sesquiterpene lactones…), plant hormones (salicylic acid, jasmonic acid, abscisic acid…) and insect hormones (ecdysone, 20-hydroxyecdysone…). *As a Core Facility at Cornell, we are not allowed to make a profit. Thus, sample fees for external clients cover the cost of consumables, machine time and labor. We revisit these fees every 6 months and adjust them to ensure the facility operates at a strictly break-even capacity.
