SPONSORS AWARD WINNERS
These award recipients are selected by our sponsors. There will be 9 prizes in total – one from each sponsor company. The criteria for these awards are quite broad, and may include novelty, execution, quality of engineering, performance, difficulty, social benefits, presentation, and usefulness.
Nine winning teams receive $500 each.
FACULTY CHOICE AWARD
The Faculty Choice award is judged by faculty from CIS, and it focuses on the computing aspects of the project (software algorithms, software engineering). Criteria may include novelty, elegance, simplicity, and appropriateness of algorithms, and overall software engineering.
The winning team receives $500.
STATISTICS AWARD
The BOOM Statistics Award will be awarded to the most intriguing statistics project as judged by a panel of statistics faculty members.
The winning team receives $500.
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD
The People’s Choice Award recipient is selected by the attendees according to whatever criteria each attendee sees fit to use. All attendees and participants are eligible to vote during the event. Only one vote per person is allowed.
The winning team receives $500. Attendees who vote during the event will be entered in a drawing to will an iPad Mini2.
