EME2Lab to #ShutDownSTEM and #ShutDownAcademia

The EME2Lab invites all of our collaborators, friends and fellow scientists to pause on Wednesday, June 10 to #ShutDownSTEM and #ShutDownAcademia. We do important work in our lab… and yes, we were closed for 12 weeks during the COVID-19 shutdown… but there are bigger problems facing our society and the academy than (gasp!) solving the renewable energy crisis. If we are truly to be stewards of our world and society, we must actively combat racism. Whether you choose to reflect individually, gather together virtually, or protest in person (please, with appropriate social distancing and mask-wearing…) we collectively encourage you to confront barriers to justice for Black students, scholars and faculty in academia and beyond. Join Particles for Justice, the AAAS, Nature, and the EME2Lab in educating ourselves and defining actions to eradicate anti-Black racism in STEM.
