Corn Grain Variety Testing Program

New York is the 21th largest producer of grain corn in the country, with an annual crop value of about $341 million. That corn is used for a wide range of agricultural and industrial uses, including  food products, animal feed, and biofuels.

We test new and leading hybrid grain corn varieties annually, evaluating them for yield, maturity, disease and insect resistance, and stalk and root strength across 10 locations that represent three maturity zones in New York.

If you would like your varieties evaluated in our trials, visit our Grain Testing Entry Information page.  For more information, contact: Margaret Smith.
