September was a busy month. The first ever SIPS Schmittau-Novak graduate student grants were awarded earlier this month. The student projects are exciting – you can check them out.

Our graduate students have also been working hard to enable SIPS to be part of Cornell’s Diversity and Inclusion Preview Weekend. This preview weekend is intended to introduce underrepresented students to our research programs the year before they apply to graduate school. Please click the link below to learn more about the event, and send the link to colleagues that might have students interested in the program. The application deadline is Dec 1, 2017 and the preview weekend is March 8-11, 2018

Our three faculty searches have begun, and each committee is working to refine the job description and develop the search plan. The position announcements will be available in the next several weeks.
