Snowflakes are all Unique

Personally, I found this event very entertaining, because it was fun to use our hands to create artwork with simple cuts in paper. I especially admired the cultural symbols from Chinese New Year that were recreated by my peers, as it is amazing to use art to create a community connection with differing cultures that we are surrounded by and often oblivious to. I also liked the aspect of this event that embraced individuality, because even thought we were provided with general guidelines, everyone’s snowflakes and cut outs were unique. My roommate and I really loved this activity and hung up our artwork on our room door and they are still there today- reminding us of our unique creativity!

Artwork for All

I especially liked this event because there were really no guidelines, except pick up a brush and colors of your choice and begin painting! In our society with such a rigorous course schedule and daily routine, it is rare to have the ability to really cherish and utilize our creative as humans. I really appreciated that I had a chance to explore my imagination and relax while creating my own art that had no rules or restrictions. Definitely will attend other similar events!

Serenity

I found this event incredible, because it really allows students the opportunity to take a moment away from the stressful whim of prelims and instead indulge in a moment of calm painting. Led by Bob Ross, the video tutorial was very informative yet relaxing, and I wish we had more frequent events like this one. I feel as if introspection and art should be encouraged more, particularly in high-stress environments, as it really made me recognize it was missing from my daily life. Additionally, this specific event made me more aware of the necessity for self-care and community bonding over a common activity such as art. Furthermore, other aspects of our culture should be more so pursued in college life, such as art and crafty activities, because they are so important and beneficial!

Forks Out??

A unique plot laden with mystery and distress, Knives Out provides a riveting cinematic experience that results in an unexpected ending. Led to believe that the innocent nurse had murdered the male lead, the audience is shocked to discover that he had predestined this seemingly cold murder by setting himself up for an apparent suicide. Clever but surprising, the mastery behind the making of this film full of plot twists sincerely deserves applause, as it is convincing yet unsuspecting. Certainly had me eager for more information and a faster moving sequence of events, as the cinematography is clean and the story line is intriguing. I found Martha to be a really constant and kind character, while Harlan seems to be more complex and exhibited much character development through furthered understanding in the movie. Ultimately, this was a very interesting an enjoyable film I would watch again!

Not a Sports Fan

I wouldn’t consider myself a traditional sports spectator, but I enjoyed the experience of watching the Super Bowl. I found that, above all, there are many aspects of the entertainment industry that stand out during the broadcasted event. Particularly, the commercials were very distinct and certainly tailored towards the expected audience. Additionally, there is a significant gambling presence, which I find likewise intriguing, considering that the focus should presumably be around sports only. Overall, it is apparent that there are many implications of this athletic endeavor that unites communities and ultimately signifies more of a celebration above all.
