Who done it??

Of the multitude of movie night at Rose Dining that were screened throughout the semester, my favorite one had to be Knives Out. Knives Out somewhat emulated an old-fashioned whodunit kind of mystery- abundant with suspense, humor, and entertainment. One of the things that I admired about the production was the intricacies in the settings of the plot. The throne of knives, which appeared to be sharp, and ominous, was actually a farce– perhaps an analogy to how people may not be who they appear to be. I admired the mystery and maze-like architecture of the house itself, which also reminded me of the AD White House on Campus- they look so alike! I enjoyed solving the mystery along with the characters in the novel, they did a great job of keeping me on my toes for most of the movie. One of things that kept my attention throughout the film was Daniel Craig’s eccentric southern accent, every time he spoke I count help but hear him speak in his natural British accent. I liked how the detective, Benoit, stripped every single one of the characters of there defenses, exposing how much pettiness and facades they put up to thrive in the family. The ending was insane and very satisfying, and this satisfaction was seen in the faces of mine and other Rose Scholar faces by the end of the night when we were eager to say our thoughts during the discussion
