In the midst of a situation that is unheard of in recent history, people are quick to ask questions, with the number: why. Why is this happening, where did this come from, how did we get here. In any crisis, there is often a jump to placing blame on an individual or a group of individuals even before a full understanding of the situation comes about. While these are completely reasonable questions, it is important to keep in mind that no one currently knows how to deal with the situation at hand. Dolling out blame does nothing to help figure out how to maneuver during this difficult time.
I wish that I had gone to more of the table talk. I’m considering being rose scholar next year, and think that I will do my best to focus on table talk events simply because I think they give us the most interaction with our peers.
