I loved the Yamato Taiko concert. I never imagined enjoying a concert solely consisting of drums, but the group made it very entertaining. The drummers would have a “drum off” where they would comically compete against each other. It was very engaging because throughout the show, drummers would include the audience and give them a rhythm to clap to. It’s hard to say the performance consisted of songs, but the auditorium was bursting with mellifluous and powerful music. That’s what I recall the most about the experience. The strong sound of the drums; different drums would provide a different auditory experience. By combining the different drums, the clash of music was engaging and enjoyable. I really liked the concert and would recommend for people to go if they get the opportunity.
The concert must have been an enjoyable experience! I like the interaction between the drummers and the audience so that the audience is not just observing the performances. Clapping to the rhythm sounds exciting. I understand what you meant about different drums providing a different auditory experience. In South Korea, we have four types of traditional drums that each have unique characteristics, melody, and tone. I am glad you liked the concert!
This seems like a very interesting experience! I had similar emotions when I first watched the Taiko team on campus; the team is not just delivering music and songs, they are filled with energy and optimism for the school year.
