This was my first time at the Vagina Monologues. Frankly, I made an effort to avoid them in previous years as the title sounded rather scandalous in nature. This time, I though I might as well see what all the fuss was about. I was delighted with the humor of the night and pleased with the valuable and insightful information the actresses presented on the state of women’s’ health across the world. I’m so happy that this initiative exists to normalize the discussion of women’s health and sexuality as these topics are too often skirted, making people suffer as a result. I was pleased to attend and I hope the initiative expands even beyond tis singular performance to further its mission.

That is really cool that you got to attend! I have also been avoiding this event because of the title. It is good to know that the event is actually intriguing, important, and effective. I am definitely going to make an effort to attend next semester after reading this post. It will be interesting to see how different the true experience is from my assumptions based on the title. I completely agree with you in that topics regarding women’s health need to become more normalized and should be something that is in conversation normally and regularly. I am very glad to hear that issues regarding women’s health and sexuality are being brought to light through such events.
