Hello to Cornell First-Year Students and their Families!

Family Orientation and New Student Orientation are around the corner, and we are happy to share our plans to welcome incoming students and their loved ones to Olin & Uris Libraries! Take a look below and feel free to add any of our tours to your orientation itinerary, we’d love to show you around!

Cornell Family Orientation: August 14 & 15, 2023

An essential part of the Orientation experience, our 40-minute Olin & Uris Libraries Tours introduce new Cornellians to two iconic libraries and vital academic resources on the Arts Quad at the heart of central campus. Olin and Uris Libraries are home to materials and library experts primarily supporting the humanities and social sciences.

Tours will start at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in the morning and resume in the afternoon at 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Meet up point is at Ho Plaza between Olin and Uris Libraries and just outside the main entrance of Olin Library.

Cornell New Student Orientation: August 16 & 17, 2023

Tours will take place in the afternoon at 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. We will meet at Ho Plaza between Olin and Uris Libraries, just outside the main entrance of Olin Library.

*Please note that these walking tours include multiple stairways and contact bb29@cornell.edu prior to your anticipated tour with any accessibility needs.

Finally, don’t forget to greet some of our staff as they volunteer at Cornell University Library tent in Ho Plaza during orientation and help haul stuff on move-in day!
