Biocontrol Establishment Survey Sign Up

Thank you for your interest in helping us sample for biocontrol establishment! We have released biocontrol predators in multiple locations throughout New York State. Biocontrol releases from our lab must occur on public land, as we are publicly funded. However, we know that some of our biocontrols have spread through the landscape on their own. Many people may already have Laricobius beetles or silver flies on their property, even without releases occurring there, but we won’t know unless we look. We want to learn more about the patterns and extent of this spread, but we can only look for these beetles on public land without permission from private landowners. If you are interested in finding out whether these species have spread to your property, please let us know! We are looking for private landowners who are willing to grant us access to their properties or participate in foliage surveying themselves to help us find out where our biocontrols have landed!

Location Information and Participation Interest

I am interested in being contacted about collecting and submitting hemlock samples to NYSHI
I am interested in allowing NYSHI access to my property to collect samples themselves
I understand NYSHI will NOT be sending biocontrol insects to me.
Check this box if you do not own private property but are interested in helping NYSHI out with surveys
