NASA Joins The Fight Against HWA in New York State

The hemlock woolly adelgid is on the move toward the Adirondack Park in northern New York.  The park is home to the highest densities of hemlocks found in the state and the pressure is on to identify and protect priority stands before the insect arrives.  Recently, APIPP (Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program) and the SLELO PRISM have partnered with NASA on a large scale remote sensing project to map hemlocks across northern New York.
