Webinar: Economic Feasibility Case Study of Co-Digestion of Manure and Food Waste on a Northern New York Dairy Farm

Thursday Dec 1, 2022, 12pm-1pm

Are you interested in exploring whether a manure and food waste co-digestion enterprise might be feasible at your dairy? This webinar will present the economic feasibility of two scenarios of anaerobic co-digestion on a case dairy farm located in Northern NY.

  • Scenario 1: addition of food waste (20 percent by volume) to an existing manure anaerobic digester to electricity system.
  • Scenario 2: new construction anaerobic digester to renewable natural gas (RNG) system taking in food waste (up to 50 percent by volume) with manure.

Food waste sources and tipping fees, biogas generation and utilization forĀ  energy, and digested effluent storage and nutrient management planning are described. A question and answer session is included.
