CCE On-Farm Calf Barn Program Featured in News

On July 27th and 28th, CCE North Country Regional Team Dairy Specialists Casey Havekes and Lindsay Ferlito hosted an on-farm program focusing on calf barn ventilation. Tim Terry, Farm Strategic Planning Specialist with Cornell PRO-DAIRY, explained the importance of adequate ventilation in dairy calf barns, what we need to achieve that, and some common mistakes and areas to troubleshoot. There was also a demonstration of the barn being fogged to show whether it had adequate air exchanges and even ventilation throughout the barn given the season.

This is related to a Northern NY Ag Development Program funded grant that the CCE NCRAT Dairy Specialists are working on with 15 farms across the region this year.
