Welcome to the North Country Regional Ag Team (NCRAT) Blog! We are excited to have this new platform to share the latest agricultural news, trends, research, and much more with you. For those of you who are not familiar with NCRAT, we are a team of agricultural specialists that serve the North Country region. On the team we have two Field Crop Specialists (Kitty O’Neil & Mike Hunter), two Dairy Specialists (Lindsay Ferlito & Casey Havekes), a Farm Business Management Specialist (Kelsey O’Shea), and an Administrative Assistant (Tatum Langworthy) who is responsible for all of the behind the scenes magic! Our goal for this blog is to provide farmers with technical content on all aspects of dairy farming, field crops and soils, and farm business management related topics. In addition to technical content, the blog will feature upcoming events, success stories, and applied research results.
We are excited about the simplicity of the blog – all posts will be featured on the left hand side of the page (as this one is), and on the right hand side you will notice a series of tools that you can use to find tune your searches based on your personal interests. We will assign blog posts to certain categories so you can browse by topic area, and we will use ‘keyword’ tags so that you can search for specific content that way as well. Another exciting feature of the blog is how easily the posts can be shared to your personal social media pages. We invite (and encourage!) you to explore the blog and share materials that may be relevant to your life and/or businesses!
