The Pesticide Management Education Program (PMEP) at Cornell University is pleased to announce the newest addition to our lineup of online pesticide applicator recertification courses.
Integrated Pest Management for Insect Pests on Field Corn discusses integrated pest management for insect pests of field corn. It focuses on correct insect pest identification, lifecycles, and management strategies that can be employed. After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Correctly identify the economically important insect pests of field corn in New York State.
- Describe the lifecycle for each of these pests.
- Identify and use the appropriate monitoring strategies for these pests.
- Select and implement the appropriate management strategy for these pests.
This course was developed by Ken Wise, Livestock & Field Crops IPM Extension Area Educator with the New York State Integrated Pest Management Program.
Integrated Pest Management for Insect Pests on Field Corn is available for $30.00 through PMEP’s Distance Learning Center. The course is approved in New York State for 1 recertification credit in categories 1a, 10, 21, and 23. Several New England and mid-Atlantic states have also approved the course for recertification credits in their respective states.
