In class, we talked about that “the strength of weak ties”: weak tie is the bridge for people to learn novel information, and we also discussed the survey result that most people find jobs through acquaintances instead of close friends. These two points are confirmed by this article, but this is only one aspect of weak ties’ benefits. People should not only build relationships in working environment. It is beneficial for people to form circles in every aspects of life. For instance, the article mentions that people can even become friends with others through walking dog. In this way, people’s sources of information will be more diversified, and they will feel more supported and connected in their lives.
