  • Hello neighbor! Dr. Bellows, Dr. Reyes, Shariwa Oke, and Beatriz Carmona went to the University of Buffalo’s Ingestive Behaviors Research Day in May where they presented their work on measuring diet and feeding behaviors in preschool children.

  • Summer travels! After Buffalo we moved on to Omaha in June for the International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (Beatriz, Shariwa and Laura), then on to Chicago for the American Society for Nutrition (Beatriz, Ligia and Laura), and back to Ithaca for the FUSE International Conference (Shariwa and Laura).
  • Conferences aren’t all about work! In Omaha we found a playgrounds with fantastic slides (Shariwa Oke) and baseball games (Big Ten championship – Go Blue!). Laura ‘caught’ her first foul ball!

  • Shariwa Oke, a fourth year PhD candidate, was recently selected as a predoctoral trainee on DNS NIH Translational Research T32 training grant. Her research interests are in digital behavioral intervention design and implementation.
